Assessment Only Pathways
| Recognition of Prior Learning recognises what you have already learnt from other qualifications, other life experiences, from work experience and from any training provided at work and measures it against the qualification or units you are doing or wish to do. If what you have learnt previously is relevant to the qualification, you may not have to do these parts of the qualification again. It is important to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning if you think you have already gained some experience that might be relevant to your qualification. |
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
| Mutual recognition (or credit transfers) is the process that recognizes qualifications under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and Statements of Attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations (RTO's) enabling individuals to receive national recognition of their achievements. Coral Reef Institute will recognise and give due credits for any qualifications issued by other Registered Training Organisations. Coral Reef Institute recognises that adults bring to their learning a wide variety of experiences and all participants of accredited VET courses are advised of the availability of Recognition of Prior Learning/Current Competencies (RPL/RCC). Assessments will be made against the competency standards or learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the course curriculum or training package and takes into account skills and knowledge you may have already gained through life or work experience and previous study. These are measured against your chosen course of study and if relevant and sufficient evidence is submitted you may be granted credits or exemptions for some parts of your studies. |
