PADI IDC Instructor training on Phi Phi and Phuket

PADI Instructor Courses IDC Phuket Phi Phi Thailand

Open doors you have only imagined.

As a PADI Professional, you do things others only dream of.

Whether you work in a local dive center, at a resort, or on a live-aboard dive boat, the adventure of a lifetime is yours for the taking.

Imagine a job where you actually look forward to heading off to work in the morning. Lead a life others fantasize about. Sailing into incredible sunsets could be the rule, not the exception, especially if you work in a tropical dive destination. The commute to work could be as easy as a ten-minute boat ride. Work now becomes an adventure in itself. While experiencing new cultures and lifestyles, you'll be surrounded by people who are always happy. When you take people diving all day - everyone's happy. It's not all fun and games in paradise, but the rewards are well worth the effort.

If you set your sights close to home and aspire to work at a local dive center, you teach people how to dive and guide trips to exotic dive destinations. There's a sense of pride sharing something you are passionate about. You help others enrich their own lives by experiencing the adventure of diving.

Holding a certification from another Training Agency and how to cross over to PADI.

Scuba Instructors who are currently active with other diver training organizations may become PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors (OWSI) by crossing over to PADI. The OWSI rating is the first PADI Instructor level attained by PADI dive professionals. During training instructor candidates review PADI Standards, procedures, philosophies and teaching methods as well as hone practical teaching abilities, waterman-ship and diving knowledge. After successfully completing a PADI Instructor Examination (IE), OWSI's take responsibility for introducing friends to scuba diving through various PADI programs and courses. Teaching status PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors may conduct the entire range of PADI programs from Discover Scuba Diving up to Divemaster. In order to teach specialties a Specialty Instructor rating in that specific specialty is required.

Prerequisites
To enroll in a PADI OWSI Program, you must:

  • Be certified as a PADI Assistant Instructor or as a current instructor member in good standing with another recreational diver training organization for at least six months.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Submit medical clearance for diving signed by a physician, attesting to fitness to dive. The medical clearance must be current within the previous 12 months. The physician signing the medical clearance cannot be the applicant.
  • Have been a certified diver for at least six months and have completed and logged at least 60 dives showing experience in night diving, deep diving and underwater navigation.
Note: To attend an IE, the instructor candidate must have at least 100 logged dives.
  • Submit proof of CPR and first aid training within the last 24 months.
  • Submit documentation of any qualifying certifications for entry level, advanced, rescue and leadership level issued by another recreational diver training organization. (PADI Members who have these records on file at PADI do not need to resubmit.)
